Inspire Programme
London 2012 will be one of the most far-reaching events in the world and communities across the UK will be able to get involved thanks to the Inspire Programme.
The Inspire Programme is a once in a lifetime opportunity for individuals and organisations across Northumberland to be part of the London 2012 Games - now! The Programme recognises outstanding non-commercial projects and events inspired by the games coming to the UK.
Northumberland Sport
Northumberland Sports' 2012 Olympic Legacy Project "Bringing the Games Closer" has recently been recognised as part of the London 2012 Inspire Programme. This marks the beginning of a new plan to link Northumberland directly to the Games and inspire more young people in the County to get involved in sport.
Our Sport Unlimited programme was also recognised by the Inspire programme, the benefits of which came to fruition when 2 lucky young participants were selected to visit the London 2012 Olympic Park.
How to get involved
Large or small, the programme is looking for inspirational ideas from all sorts of people - surprising, exciting and innovative projects, events or activities inspired by London 2012.
Most non-commercial organisations can put forward projects. Initiatives are assessed by London 2012 and the International Olympic Committee. Projects that receive InspireMark accreditation will get the following benefits:
- Inspire projects can carry the London 2012 brand on a wide range of marketing materials.
- Reach new audiences, forge new partnerships, be inspired.
- Regional and national media regularly focus attention on Inspire projects. Regional events to showcase projects, drive inspiration and stimulate new partnerships will also be run.
- Strengthen your project through the a variety of networking opportunities.
- Communications support will be provided.
