To help communities share in the excitement of the Olympic Torch Relay, Lloyds TSB will be taking the London 2012 Olympic Torch on a tour of the UK this summer.
It will travel extensively throughout the UK, arriving in Alnwick on 29th June 2011 and finishing at the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on 4 September 2011.
The Lloyds TSB London 2012 Olympic Torch Tour is an interactive roadshow where visitors can have their photo taken with the London 2012 Olympic Torch and other historical torches, learn about the history of the Relay, play interactive games, and nominate someone who's made a difference in their local community for the chance to carry the Olympic Flame.
Nominate a Torchbearer
Lloyds TSB is also inviting the public and customers to nominate somebody who's made a difference in their local community and inspired others for the once in a lifetime opportunity to be a London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer. Lloyds TSB is also encouraging people to share their nominations to inspire others to make a nomination of their own.
Nominations can be made online via the Lloyds TSB website from today 09 June 2011 until 12 September 2011.
Bringing the Games Closer
Sir Chris Hoy, four-time Olympic Gold Medallist and Lloyds TSB Ambassador for the London 2012 Games, launched the Lloyds TSB Olympic Torchbearer nomination process and London 2012 Olympic Torch Tour: "It's great that Lloyds TSB is bringing the Games closer to local communities and inviting the public to nominate someone to carry the Olympic Flame. I urge everyone to nominate and recognise the people who've made a difference to their local community."
