This section provides information about funding opportunities for sport and physical activity related organisations.

Sportsmatch

Sportsmatch is a government funded scheme set up to help fund grass roots and community sports in England.

In May 2008, Sport England was delighted to announce the return of Sportsmatch with a new web-based facility enabling applicants to apply online.

Minister for Sport, GerrySutcliffe, said:

“Sportsmatch has proven to be a great initiative over the years and has encouraged businesses to support grass roots sport projects up and down the country. I hope that it continues to go from strength to strength as we look to create a world class community sport system that encourages people to play sport for life."

Community Investment Fund

The Community Investment Fund is the National Lottery funding available from the nine regions of Sport England. Decisions about Sport England funding grants over £10,000 are made locally by the nine regional sports boards. Eligible projects will be assessed against the priorities laid out in the Regional Plan for Sport and the national framework for sport.
