Get Active Northumberland is a Northumberland Sport campaign which encourages people in Northumberland to get active and stay active.
As part of this campaign Northumberland Sport has organised Annual Northumberland Triathlon Festivals at the scenic Druridge Country Park, alongside local authority events over the past 3 years, all of which have proved highly successful. For further information on the 2009 Northumberland Triathlon Festival, please visit our news item.
Northumberland Sport's Chairman Steve Cram said that “we want to remind people of the fantastic opportunities we have on our doorstep.
We have many great clubs and organisations, but not everyone wants to be part of a club and play in organised leagues and competition. Northumberland also has a spectacular natural landscape including miles of quiet, golden sandy beaches and stunning countryside set within two areas of outstanding natural beauty and the rugged Northumberland National Park.
All of these places provide a fantastic backdrop for walking, cycling and watersports for either groups of friends or individuals to enjoy.”
