Hirst High Rises to the Challenge of Sport Relief

Hirst High School has successfully won the bid to host this year's Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile for the county of Northumberland after many weeks of submitting proposals!

This year’s event takes place on Sunday 16 March from 12pm – 4pm on the school fields. Mile 1 will start at 1.00pm and Mile 2 will begin at 2.30pm with warm ups and cool down sessions for all Milers.

To register for the Mile, simply log on to www.sportrelief.com and select the Ashington Hirst High School Mile. Registration is all done online and once you've signed up you'll be sent your Mile number, a goody bag and the relevant information you need from the

As well as the Sport Relieft mile there will be  live bands, bouncy castle, and sporting activities such as the Tennis Factory and Ultimate Frisbee plus much, much more, it promises to be a great day . So even if you don’t fancy doing the Mile, you can still come and enjoy all the other activities going on. Bring your family and friends.

Sport Relief uses everything that’s good about sport to help change lives for the better by doing sport, having fun, learning about the world and raising money to support those in need.

The money raised by you will be spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and across the world.
