John Laing Powerchair Rugby Cup
The Percy Hedley Foundation is hosting the first national Powerchair Rugby Development Event at Percy Hedley Sports Academy on the weekend of the 21st and 22nd July 2007. The aim of the weekend is to promote Powerchair Rugby within the local, national and eventually international sports forum.
Powerchair Rugby is a new game that has been developed by the Percy Hedley Sports Academy Development Team with the ultimate goal of promoting greater awareness of the sport.
Participants will be assisted over the weekend with bespoke coaching and mentoring from the Percy Hedley Team and Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club.
The event is supported by John Laing who is an international infrastructure investment company with local offices in Newcastle.
An evening social event on Saturday 21st July 2007 has been arranged to be held at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Kingston Park, Newcastle and it is envisaged that members of the Falcons will be attending the gathering. The event is free to all competitors and carers.
All teams will get the opportunity to compete against each other over the weekend culminating in the award for the John Laing Powerchair Rugby Cup.
