Free Runs are a Hit in Northumberland

Blyth is the latest addition to the parkrun events calendar with the free weekly 5k timed event taking place at Blyth Links on Saturday mornings. Over 880 runners have already taken part in the weekly event organised by local volunteers for the benefit of everyone.

What is a parkrun?

parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.

These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and encourage people of every ability to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience.

parkruns have been a great success in Northumberland with Blyth Links being the 5th weekly event being established. Other events in Northumberland are;

All the events take place on Saturday mornings at 9:00am and are 5k in distance and free to take part in. All you have to do is register online before attending.
