Getting Active

Here at Northumberland Sport we aren’t just about getting people playing sport.  We realise sport isn’t for everyone and some people are actually “turned off” by the term sport and just getting active and moving more is just as important to us.

If you aren’t interested in joining your local netball club or going to play cricket with your mates it doesn’t mean there isn’t an activity out there for you.  Look at the This Girl Can Campaign as an example of how if we look at something in a different way it can become more appealing and make you want to give it a go.

Being active is important for everyone!

Whatever your age, being active now will make an immediate impact on your health and protect it in the future too.

Physical activity helps control your weight, reduce blood pressure and cholesterol and improve your mental health – helping you to look and feel great.
