Super Family Fun Day at Druridge Bay
Fun for all the family!
The paths and sand dunes around beautiful Druridge Bay in Northumberland will be awash this weekend with the sound of happy families as one of the region’s biggest family fun days takes place – and its all for a very good cause!
The event, taking place this Saturday 7th June 2008 between 10am - 4pm, will have more than 500 children and their families from schools and communities from across the county, taking part in a fun packed day of activities, which will include;
- a sponsored walk
- cycle rides
- family challenges including giant jigsaws, quizzes and remote control cars
- BBQs
In addition, an entertainment marquee will host 'the World Beaters and Custom Beat African Drummers’, face painting, music and dance and the much anticipated “Northumberland’s Got Talent”, talent show where members of the public can enter the competition based on the popular TV show.
The various walks and activities are accessible to all and are wheel chair and pushchair friendly.
This event which has been organised by Northumberland County Council Extended Services in partnership with Countryside Services - Druridge BayCountry Park, is aiming to raise more than £5000 for a village in Africa, starting with the basics of a community water supply. It is hoped that enough money will be raised to build a classroom and a supply of hurricane survival kits as well as seeds and tools to help farm the land arranged by the CAFOD charity.
Castle Morpeth SPAA encourages anyone wishing to take part in the sponsored walk or bike route to register their interest at www.ncesp.org.uk or telephone Lyn Horton on 01670 822795 or just turn up on the day for a super family fun day!
