Key Stage 1 & 2

The Original QCAPE schemes of work containing extremely helpful progressive medium plans have recently been removed from the net (when the standards website was closed). Although a new Curriculum review has been promised by the Government in 2011 -12, schools have been advised to continue to use curriculum 2000 documents until any conclusive review has been completed.

 

Many teachers found these original progressive medium term plans very useful in helping them to plan, teach and assess for learning over an 8 - 12hr unit of work. They contain excellent sections on:

• Unit Expectations;
•   Expected Prior Learning;
• Unit Learning Objectives & Outcomes - crucially based on the 4 aspects of learning in PE;
• How to use core tasks;
• Suggestions for Resources and Specialist Vocabulary (language of learning in PE);
• Teaching activities;
• Extension and Enrichment suggestions and possible cross curricular links.
