Northumberland SEN in CPD PE course hits the target

Our recent "Including children with SEN in High Quality PE "CPD course provided the Teachers, HLTAs and TAs (14 staff) attending with a great opportunity to:

  • Develop and improve their knowledge, understanding and confidence in this area
  • Learn about, experience and employ a range of practical approaches and strategies to include children with disability and SEN effectively in PE lessons.

The course was ultimately aimed at enabling attendees to adapt and improve the effectiveness of the support that can be provided for children and young people in their care.

During this highly practical day, delegates learned how they could use the inclusion spectrum, STEP framework and accompanying Sportsability resources to help them to improve high quality outcomes for the pupils in their care.

Feedback from the day

All staff rated the course highly, which is evidenced in the evaluations from the day, which can be downloaded by clicking here.  They also felt that the action plans completed on the day will help them to follow a course of action back in school that will make an impact!

Thank you acknowledgements go to co tutors Jayne Dixon and Roz Doonan (SEN SSCos) and hosts - Priory School, Hexham for once again ensuring that this was a high quality and useful Professional Development experience for all.
