Peter Beardsley kicks off Junior Athlete Education in Ashington

Staff and 24 talented students at Ashington Community High School Sports College were delighted when Peter Beardsley (pictured) recently agreed to attend the pilot launch of their first Junior Athlete Education workshop earlier this term.
The Schools' "Talented in PE coordinator", Lisa Wrigglesworth ,who organised the workshop(s), has worked closely with fellow colleagues within the Sports College, feeder Middle Schools, Ashington School Sport Partnership and School Improvement Service on:
- Improving consistency and clarity of Talent ID (criteria , selection and policy –within school Family and School Sport Partnership)
- Improving support given to talented students by Involving and informing parents and pupils of G & T policy ,available support (mentoring) and talent development opportunities
