Tynedale School Sport Partnership Conference Success
Primary Link Teachers (PLTs), Middle SchoolPE coordinators and School Sport Co-ordinators in the Tynedale School Sport Partnerships, gathered at Ridley Hall on 29th April to celebrate another successful year delivering the National PE and Sport strategy.
The conference was once again a great success and almost 50 delegates attended and contributed on the day.
The conference keynote was given by John Dowler, Head teacher of Haydon Bridge High School Sports College, who is sadly departing from Haydon Bridge and Northumberland after almost 7 years to take up a new position as Head teacher at Helsby High School, West Cheshire.
John gave glowing praise for all SSP staff (Partnership Manager, SSCos and PLTs), all of whom have been key to achieving high quality outcomes for thousands of children and Young People in the Tynedale area - in and beyond Physical Education and school sport.
John certainly provided what was a motivational start to the conference and we wish him all the very best as he moves back closer to home.
Conference Delivery
Conference sessions were supported by the Local Authority PE Consultant, 3 NGB sports coaches & development officers and two of the Northumberland Competition Managers, all of whom were there to provide national updates on new curriculum developments, share good practice, new resources/programmes and support inclusive practice to ensure that teachers include & accommodate all young people in PE lessons so that they are encouraged to spend the Government's recommended 5 hours each week enjoying sport - whether in school or community clubs or competitions.
