Welcome
to the Ashington School Sport Partnership and thank you for
taking the time to find out more about our work.
Our
Partnership covers Ashington High, Hirst High, Coquet High
and St. Benet Biscop High Schools and their 36 feeder
schools.
Our
team of 8 School Sport co-ordinators works with the staff
and pupils in these schools to extend the range of quality
sporting activities available to pupils both in and out of
the curriculum.
We
now have 82% of the young people in our Partnership taking
part in 2 or more hours of quality PE each week.
In line with the Government’s target, our next
challenge is to offer all our pupils 5 hours of PE and sport
each week by 2012.
We
hope our website will give you an insight into some of the
ways in which we aim to meet this challenge.
