Northumberland Sport is proud to announce the awarding of the Foundation Level of the Equality Standard: A Framework for Sport. Northumberland Sport are the first County Sports Partnership in the North East to be awarded this achievement, which is the result of the fantastic effort from Partners and the Core Team in contributing to the process and pulling together a detailed and extensive portfolio of evidence.
Executive Director Doug Lowery said: “this is a fantastic achievement and shows that equity is embedded throughout the work of the Northumberland Sport Partnership. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Partnership for their hard work”.
The next phase in our equality work will be to build on this success and influence the development of training and projects to make a difference to participation in sport and physical activity by disadvantaged groups in Northumberland.
