Jo Cunliffe, LTA Tennis Development Manager (North) said: "The annual Northumberland Tennis Awards Evening is a chance for coaches/clubs to recognise achievement in all aspects of tennis over the last year and acknowledge the effort from not only players but volunteers and helpers as well. The awards won by Cramlington Community Tennis Programme are testament to the coaching staff, trustees and committee members at the CCTP and all the hard work that's gone into developing a top facility. Cramlington Community Tennis Programme was only set up in April 2006 and uses council run facilities, so what's been achieved so far is tremendous. Just last year the CCTP scooped the Lawn Tennis Association's coveted Tennis Clubmark Award and in March of this year the Tennis Foundation awarded them Beacon status in recognition of their high quality, affordable community tennis programmes and is one of the first community sites to achieve this status."

"The club has quickly become very successful with a number of juniors playing at county level. One of its strengths is that it offers an all-inclusive tennis programme for all ages and abilities that allows people from all backgrounds to play tennis whether it's just a knockabout, in lessons or in a competition setting."

Cramlington Community Tennis Programme hires the courts at both Alexandra Park and the Sporting Club of Cramlington and has the use of 9 fully floodlit macadam all-weather courts. Our coaching team provides quality coaching within an action packed programme throughout the week for our 100+ members and also any interested non-members, all year round.
