Young people in Blyth Valley can look forward to a packed programme of activities during May’s half term school holiday.

The programme, which runs from Tuesday 29 May to Friday 1 June at leisure centres and outdoor venues throughout Blyth Valley, has been organised by Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure’s Leisure Inclusion Team and caters for all young people from toddlers to teens.

Participants are invited to take part in a range of dance and games activities, archery, football, climbing, trampolining and snorkelling as well as try a variety of sports with the Sports Roadshow team, who will be travelling around the borough.

A series of popular events for youngsters and parents was organised by the Make-a-Move Leisure Inclusion Team during the Easter holidays and the aim is to repeat the programme’s success in May.

Nathan Rogerson, Leisure Development Manager for Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure, said: “We are delighted with the success of the Easter programme and we are hopping that the next one, in May, will be just as popular.  More than 300 children and parents had a great time at Blyth’s Ridley Park over Easter taking part in activities including an Easter egg hunt, dancing, face painting and a variety of sports.  We are running the roadshows as part of the programme once again, so there really is no excuse to laze around in the holidays this May half term.”

A booking form and details about the half term programme are available by downloading the Make a Move brochure or contacting a member of the Leisure Inclusion Team on 01670 367286.
