Bedlington Swim School

Everyone living in and around Bedlington can now let out a big cheer, grab their swim wear and head off to St BenetBiscops school, Ridge Terrace, to the newly refurbished swimming pool. After three years of the pool being out of use a local swimming teacher and business man, Paul Stocks, has leased the pool from the council and is running one to one lessons, group lessons, school swimming lessons, adult and toddler sessions as well as public swim sessions.

As the pool had been out of use for so long, Paul had a lot of work on his plate to get the place up and running. New flooring, pipe work, electrics, heating, ceiling and one new wall were all needed as well as a vast amount of cleaning and decorating. All the hard work has now been paid off, and the 15 x 6m pool was opened on 20th February. It is hoped the pool will be embraced by the community, which for so long have suffered from the lack of a swimming pool.

Now all the refurbishments have been done it is now time for Paul to do what he is most passionate about and teach swimming.
