Newbiggin Triathlon
Well done to everyone who completed the inaugural Newbiggin Bay Triathlon on 13th September 2009.
There were a number of competitors completing their very first Triathlon or their very first open water triathlon – congratulations, you are now Triathletes!
The race enjoyed tremendous support from the local community with literally hundreds of people around the event course cheering competitor’s on – feedback from everyone has been overwhelming and is very much appreciated.
The organisers would like to thank all the Marshals who did a superb job, Sailing Club, RNLI & Blyth Life Guards, Lucozade Sport and everyone who supported the race. Next year will be bigger and better!
The overall winner was Ian Simon (Alnwick Tri) with David Trunbull and Ian Walton 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Leading female was Natelie Batey (Ryton Tri) followed closely by Emma Pearson and then Clare Jackson.
Special mention to the youngest competitor, Gregg Chambers, 15 years old, well done.
A full race report will be available from Northern Pulse Northern Pulse
