North East VCS Awards 2009
Do you know someone under 26 who is an unsung hero? Maybe someone doing the right thing in difficult times, or someone who is a campaigner and a voice for the sector?
North East Voluntary and Community Sector want to make a special award to a young leader who has made an exceptional contribution.
Leaders can come from any walk of life - they want to recognise those who have made an exceptional contribution, whether by bringing people together round an issue, working on a project or helping support an organisation. They might be working with a team, but they will certainly be inspiring others and making a real difference through their own leadership skills. They could be winning through in the face of adversity, leading by example, or an innovator. They might be empowering - the kind of person who supports and develops other people to take on more. Or maybe they are a visionary, who spotted an opportunity or a need, prevented disaster, or created a new future for a project.
If you think this description sounds like someone you know, or even yourself, you can make a nomination on the Voluntary Organisations' Network North East website. Nomination deadline is 18th September 2009.
