A delegation from the Rugby Football League have flown out to Rostov-on-Don in Russia to run coaching courses in schools and clubs in the area.

The ten day trip, principally organised by Rugby League European Federation Regional Co-ordinator for Russia Julia Bennison, will also see training undertaken with PE teachers, coaches and match officials.

Clare Robinson is the project leader with Robin Peers, the North East’s Regional Talent Coach as the tours head coach while Adam Brown is the match official's educator.

They will travel with ten volunteer coaches who will assist in delivering the programme which will include tag rugby seminars and competitions, a women's student tournament and visits to watch and officiate at Russian Student Championship matches.

Three of the ten volunteers are from the North East, including Adam Houston, Gareth Bacon and Steven Beaty.

On behalf of North East Rugby League, we would like to congratulate Adam, Gareth and Steven and wish them luck during their time in Russia.
