Tom Thomas, Wansbeck Paddlesport Club receives his award from Olympic Bronze Medalist Ian Wynne

Canoe England National Volunteer Awards

Volunteers are the lifeblood of sport and Canoeing cannot sustain the development of young people, clubs, coaching and competitions without this willing workforce. Canoe England recognises the qualities of its volunteers, their passion, enthusiasm and expertise as fundamental to the enjoyment and success of our sport at all levels.

Canoe England seeks nominations for officials, coaches, teachers and volunteers behind the scenes that support canoeists in their clubs, regions and schools that make an outstanding contribution to the sport annually.

This year's event took place at PGL Liddington near Swindon during Canoe England's Coaching Conference. Despite the snow, over 200 volunteers and coaches from across the country gathered to receive their awards presented by Olympic K1 500m Bronze medalist, Ian Wynne.
