Northumberland Sport Team Break the £2,000 Fund Raising Barrier
Lee Sprudd and Kaye Scott crossing over to Holy Island. We really did do the whole border!
The Northumberland Sport team successfully completed the huge challenge of cycling around the entire border of Northumberland, raising over £2,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in the process.
As the first 'known' group to attempt this challenge, the 365 mile route proved extremely challenging at times, particularly on the first day, heading inland through the North Pennines and finishing at Bellingham, with temperatures reaching 25 degrees plus! After months of training, the rewards were spectacular, with excellent cycle tracks offering an array of stunning scenery including the National Park, Kielder Water & Forest Park, Holy Island, historic castles and the east coast to name a few.
A Big Thank You!
A big thank you must go out to everyone who donated to the cause and supported the team including our support drivers and our main sponsors over the weekend, Benfield Motor Group and Northumbrian Water.
