Northumberland Sport Welcomes Svend Elkjaer
As part of the Volunteer Week programme of free club and coach workshops, Northumberland Sport is pleased to include the ‘Grow your Club’ workshop.
We are delighted to welcome Svend Elkjaer, the Director of the Sports Marketing Network, to deliver the ‘Grow Your Club’ workshop. Svend has established a strong national reputation having worked with clubs and National Governing Bodies across England.
Svend will provide new ideas, insights into the many challenges clubs face with a link to the specific issues concerning how clubs increase their membership and club profile within the local community. This workshop will highlight ways for a club to develop and work with the local community to promote itself and encourage participation and involvement in the local sport clubs.
Svend said “I am delighted to have been asked by Northumberland Sport to contribute towards this exciting volunteer programme. Local sporting clubs often play significant roles in their communities and without the support and work of the thousands of volunteers, many of whom provide hundreds of hours with no reward, these clubs would not exist.”
