Ros Miller receives England Athletics Service to Sport award
Ros Miller picking up her award
Her son, Paralympic Athlete Stephen and Northumberland Sport Board Member, attended the ceremopny and was very proud indeed. He said "I'm very biased of course but recognition like this has been a long time coming, my mum has been so dedicated not just to me but to the whole of disability athletics.
She has been involved in identifying, coaching and developing both athletes and coaches - she has developed into a great coach, helping so many athletes to fulfill their potential, and is a fantastic role model for anyone wanting to get involved in disability athletics at any level. I was so proud when she won the award on Saturday, it was a nice change for my mum to have the lime light and me just be her guest on the night."
Ros joined Gateshead Harriers in 1996. Since then the club has prospered in the field of disability sports. Ros is a leading player nationally within CP Sport and has worked hard to develop its reputation both in the north east and nationally. She was delighted to receive the award and to get the recognition for the work she has done with all the athletes she coaches.
