Rural Success

Rural 5's Girls Football League kicked off on 21st April 2007 at Belford Juniors Football Ground. Four local clubs resulting in six teams from North Northumberland participated in round robin fixtures for a six week period. Clubs involved were Belford Juniors, Lowick YFC, Longhoughton Rangers and FC Amble Juniors.

Many thanks go to Belford Juniors for hosting a successful start to the leagues, to all of the clubs taking part along with club coaches and parents and most importantly the players. Northumberland Sport and Northumberland Football Association gave invaluable support to the set up of the leagues through funding and publicity opportunities.

Due to the success of the Rural 5's there will be further opportunities to play with a new five week league starting on 16th June 2007 being held at Lowick YFC Football Ground.

A twelve week league will kick off on 8th September 2007 at Belford.
