Sports Facilities in Northumberland - Consultation

Image

Northumberland Sport would like to seek your views as to the accuracy and relevance of a consultants report entitlied "Developing a Sports Facilities Strategy for Northumberland".

PMP Consultancy were commissioned by Northumberland Sport to produce this report. This stemmed primarily from a range of issues raised through the Northumberland Sport partnership including;

  • the condition of some facilities and need for investment
  • a perceived imbalance of supply and demand across the county and
  • a desire to optimise opportunities for community access to school sports facilities.

Their report was considered by the Northumberland Sport Board in November 2008.  It was agreed here that a broader consultation on the document should take place with a view to establishing a long term strategy for sports facilities.

The Summary Report below is in essence a short summary of the main findings of the report.

The Full Report runs to some 107 and is available below, however, this may take a lot of time to download due to its size.

Both the Northumberland Sport Board and the County Council are committed to establishing a new strategy and we would welcome all feedback.  The deadline set for this consultation process is Friday 28th May 2010.

We would be grateful if you could email any feedback to our Business Support Assistant Kaye Scott.  If you have any difficulties with these documents please contact Kaye.
