Typhoo FREE Disability Inclusion Training
English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) are pleased to announce they have successfully secured a Sponsorship Deal with the Typhoo Tea brand to develop 500 community sports coaches across the UK.
As part of the funding EFDS have been working closely with the Home Nations (Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland) Disability Sport Organisations, Sports Coach UK and Sports Leaders UK to develop the first ever UK endorsed Disability Sport Inclusion Training Course. It is a 6 hour training course broken into 2x 3 hour modules (theory and practical).
The course is aimed at;
Anyone involved in delivering sport in the community from including volunteers, National Governing Bodies of Sport Officers, Sports Development Officers, Sports Leaders, Leisure Centre Staff and Club Coaches.
Course content:
This theory and practical course will ensure that disabled people of all abilities can take part in a positive sporting experience.
Delivered in a class room and sports hall, delegates will learn;
- The theory behind modern disability sport;
- Experience an opportunity to participate in new activities;
- Develop their ability to adapt games and activities to include all ability groups
