The Lord's Taverners, the official national charity that aims to give young people, particularly those with special needs the opportunity to take part in recreational cricket, has announced that the non-turf pitch grant scheme for 2007 is open for applications.

Up to £6,000 is available for the installation of non-turf pitches, practice ends and nets. Applicants can be England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) affiliated clubs, individual schools or other organisations directly involved in the development of youth cricket, but must be approved by the Cricket Development Manager at your local County Cricket Board.

Awards do not normally exceed the following levels: non-turf match pitch (£3,000); non-turf practice ends (£2,000); and outdoor nets (£1,000). Please click on Lord Taverners for application details.
