Northumberland Sport would like to congratulate Bill Blyth from Lowick Juniors YFC on his recognition by The Football Association in the National Workforce Awards.

Eleven Football Volunteers from around the country were recognised by the Football Association for their outstanding contribution to grassroots football.

The FA’s prestigious Annual Football Workforce Awards recognises the value of volunteers to the development o football at every level of the game.

Bill is the main administrator for the Glendale Youth League which involves over 350 children, Bill has also helped his club achieve The Charter Standard Development Award. In addition to all this, Bill has also achieved his Level 3 coaching qualification and is putting it to good use delivering coaching for girls in rural community schools.

Sir Trevor Brooking, FA Director of Football Development recognises the crucial role that volunteers play in football at all levels.

“Volunteers like Bill form the backbone of football in this country and play a vital role in helping to meet our objective of achieving the highest levels of participation in the world.

"The Football Workforce programme ensures that volunteers are recruited, recognised and rewarded for their marvellous contribution to the game.”
