MNAN Member Clubs

England Athletics is working to ensure that every club in the country can continue to grow and offer athletics in an "inclusive" manner to all interested in the sport, regardless of their age or ability. This would ensure that networks are able to offer a long term athlete pathway for every athletics event; maybe not in every club but across a network of clubs.

A key aim of the network programme is to make athletics clubs the heart of every community, and to make them a hub of community cohesion.

To acheive this aim, networks are essential as they can examine the way in which clubs are governed, child protection, inductions, volunteer recruitment and development, club and coaching structures, multi-discipline youth competition and membership charges. Network are also key to the delivery of England Athletic' Volunteer campaign, Run in England and Athletics 365 and can ensure that every club is able to grow and sustain participation to provide a legacy for Lndon 212 Olympic and Paralympics Games.

The vision of club sharing is also a key aim; England Athletics want clubs to help each other develop for the good of the athlete, the good of the coaches and volunteers, and for the good of the sport as a whole. Network should facilitate sharing of the best practice and innovative ideas, help by buddying and mentoring across clubs, and share expertise. This reduces the need for every club to 're-invent the wheel' on all projects being delivered, hopefully saving club volunteers and coaches time and effort and improving the quality of delivery for every club. Te aim of networks is to improve every club!

It is essential that clubs are at the heart of all delivery - this is the only way networks can ensure they meet the needs of the clubs and coaches, and that the networks become sustainable after the initial funding.
