School Sport Partnerships

What is a School Sport Partnership?

School Sport Partnerships (SSP's) are 'families' or 'clusters' of schools that received additional funding from the Government to come together to enhance sporting opportunities for young people in school.

Each partnership is individual however, they are all set around a similar model which involves a series of locally linked schools centred on a 'hub school' or 'specialist sports college'.  Each SSP is also managed by a Partnership Development Manager (PDM) who are taked with developing strategic links with key partners in sport and the wider community.

There are 450 partnerships across England encompassing all maintained schools in England.

Northumberland Sport will continue to work closely with our six School Sports Partnerships in Northumberland to promote further opportunities to school children in the county.
