The Primary Head Teacher Physical Literacy Conference is for all Primary School Head Teachers in Northumberland and is free to attend. The conference is taking place on 25th January 2018, 12:30 – 4:00pm at The Holiday Inn, Seaton Burn. The workshops on the day will focus on developing a “Whole System Approach” to changing behaviours.
A bit about our Guest Speakers
Guest speakers confirmed for the event are Liz Morgan, Interim Director of Public Health, Elaine Wyllie, the founder of the “Daily Mile” and Ali Oliver, the Chief Executive Officer for the Youth Sport Trust.
Liz Morgan, Public Health
“In Northumberland, we want all pupils to be leaving primary school physically literate, with the knowledge, confidence, skills and motivation necessary to make positive lifestyle choices and a lifelong enthusiasm to stay active.
Liz will be discussing Northumberland’s asset based approach to addressing health inequalities and how schools can engage with this.
Elaine Wyllie, The Daily Mile
Until recently, Elaine was the Headteacher of St Ninians Primary School in Stirling, Scotland, where she was concerned about the lack of fitness displayed by the children. She decided to do something about it and founded The Daily Mile in February 2012.
Ali Oliver, Youth Sport Trust
Ali is the Youth Sport Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, having previously held the role of Interim CEO from January-July 2015. In her previous role as Managing Director, Ali was responsible for leading the Youth Sport Trust’s Sporting Start, Sporting Chance and Sporting Best strategies, and oversaw the work of the organisation’s team of development staff.
