Choosing a club
Remember, a well-run club will welcome questions about their activities and policies. They will know they have a responsibility to give this kind of information to anyone who leaves a child or vulnerable adult in their care.
Northumberland Sport would recommend the following basic guidelines for any concerns or queries you may wish to raise with clubs;
§ The process of recruiting staff and volunteers
§ The qualifications of staff and volunteers (including child protection and health & safety training)
§ Supervision of staff and volunteer procedures
§ Health and safety procedures
§ Your child's personal care needs
§ Arrangements for away fixtures and other events
§ Procedure on 'how to report concerns'
§ Is there a Code of Conduct?
§ Are Child Protection policies already in place?
