CPSU Guidance for Roles and Competencies in Sport

The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) have produced a guidance document for roles, skills, knowledge and competencies for safeguarding and protecting children in the sports sector.

The document is a toolkit designed to provide guidance and practical assistance for those involved in developing implementation plans for safeguarding children and young people, including those tasked with education, training and workforce planning for staff and volunteers. It is intended that the document will be useful for a wide range of sports organisations including national governing bodies of sport, local authority leisure services departments, private and voluntary organisations, and county sports partnerships.

The document will enable them to interpret: knowledge, skills and competencies required to implement policy, procedures and best practice for safeguarding and protecting children and the training, learning opportunities and support their staff and volunteers will need.
