What is Time to Listen?

Time to Listen (TTL) is a three hour interactive workshop. It was originally developed by the NSPCC's Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and has been adapted to be specific to Triathlon.

What is covered on a TTL workshop?

The workshop offers delegates the opportunity to discuss a range of topics in a friendly and informal environment. The tutors delivering these workshops are experienced in this subject and are familiar with Triathlon's policy and procedures. The workshop builds on basic awareness and focuses on practical ideas for implementation.

Subjects covered during the workshop include:

  • What is an 'aware' club?
  • Your role as a Welfare Officer
  • Supporting clubs and putting safeguards in place
  • British Triathlon's reporting procedures
  • Core legislation, government guidance and the national framework for child protection
  • The role and responsibilities of the statutory agencies and how British Triathlon Procedures fit with these

The workshop is designed to give you confidence and support in your role and there will be plenty of chance to talk to other people in a similar position and share your experience and good practice.

What resources will you receive?

Delegates on the workshop will receive the following resources in addition to the content delivery:

  • One TTL reader (resource booklet)
  • An attendance certificate
