How to Become a Step into Sport Volunteer

If you are interested in becoming a Step into Sport (SiS) volunteer, please contact your local School Sport Partnership.
Before embarking on a SiS Volunteer placement, Northumberland Sport has devised the following guidelines which is recommended young people familiarise themselves with;
- Positively Volunteering in Northumberland
- Child Protection Guidance for Volunteers in Sport
- Equality in Sport guidance including useful contacts and appropriate terminology
- Case Study - Experience of a SiS Volunteer
Receive an addtional 1 hour for your SiS record!
To help prepare SiS volunteers before they take up identified club placements, it is recommended the following exercises be completed and submitted to Northumberland Sport. This will provide a basic awareness of the following issues;
PLEASE NOTE SIS volunteers are required to read the guidance documents above before completing the exercises.
By completeing both these exercises and reading the guidance document above, SiS volunteers will receive 1 additional hour for their individual SiS record.
