Walking for Health Programme

14th July 2017

Walking for Health are England’s largest network of health walk schemes, helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle.  The group walks are led by friendly, specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind.

Why should to walk more?

Walking has been described as the perfect exercise, and we completely agree!  Walking can help and/or prevent conditions such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and arthritis.  Regular walks can also help combat depression and loneliness.  As well as being a great way to exercise, the walks are an excellent way of meeting others.
